One-off profile of your horse's inflammation and immune state. With our gut MOT we do three tests:

  1. FEC to check parasite levels

  2. An inflammation test. Although inflammation is elevated in horses with ulcers, this test also capture inflammation in the intestines, which is 90% of the horses gastrointestinal tract. High inflammation is seen in horses with colitis, free faecal water, diarrhoea and dysbiosis.

  3. A immune test. This is associated with gut barrier issues such as ‘leaky’ gut. 


The inflammation and immune test are analogous to tests use to diagnose IBS/IBD/Crohn’s disease in humans (but horse markers). We can do this as a one-off or as ongoing monitoring.


The report you recieve compares your horses makers with those of 'healthy' horses with no history of gut issues. This is not a diagnostic tool can be used to evaluate gut health and management. Where horses have levels that are of concernt we recommend seeking your vet's advice.
